It seems that the lapses of the Marcos assistants overweigh its achievements. One of the reasons for this is that people don't seem to overlook the advantageous contributions of Ferdinand Marcos to the nation, and instead focus on the failures it brought. While information technology is a natural mental attitude of human beings to give more attention to the wrong than the good in others, it is likewise important to keep in mind the things they've washed to help in the improvement of the society.

Happy Hearts Twenty-four hour period, Tumblr.

In 1954, while the nation's attention was glued to President Ramon Magsaysay, and so Congressman Ferdinand Marcos briefly stole the limelight when he met Imelda Romualdez, Rose of Tacloban—who sometime later would be Mrs. Marcos.

Hartzell Spence, who wrote the Marcos biography, recalls how it happened:

About one-half an 60 minutes earlier midnight, Ferdinand Marcos, his voice communication ended, entered the cafeteria and saw Imelda. He stood motionless for a moment, an activity which did not get unnoticed past the canny politicians present, whose eyes miss zero unusual. Other members of the firm now drifted in. Marcos asked to be introduced to the fair stranger.

No one would exercise the honors betwixt the Golden Voice of the North and the Rose of Tacloban. "I don't desire it on my conscience," his all-time friend in the bedchamber told him. Others were equally adamant; by now Marcos had some reputation equally a Lothario…Finally, Representative Jacobo Gonzales of Laguna in Southern Luzon, a friend of the Romualdez family and an old guerilla buddy of Ferdinand, who had a sense of both humor and destiny, stood the honour, and Imelda and Ferdinand met.

"Would yous mind continuing upwards?" the Ilocano asked Imelda.

Puzzled, she complied. He stood back to back with her, measured with his hand, verified that he was a half-inch taller than she. (She was in depression heels and her pilus was not piled loftier.)

"Fine," he said. "Everything else is okay." And turning to Congressman Gonzales he announced, "I'm getting married."

Untold Story of Martial Law - Aquinas/Marcos [Filipino History]

[A fascinating piece of dark history from the Phillippine islands. The demonization of a radical reformer, Ferdinand Marcos, by his countrymen. Just like how during the regime of Obregon and Calles, in Mexico, individuals who were praised as reformers (Zapata and Villa) would be portrayed every bit barbarians. The masses would be led past claret thirsty individuals under the false pretense of a twisted vision of "Republic". In Mexico this task would be taken up by the PRI while in the Phillippine islands this would be the chore of the People Ability Revolution. Mexican and Filipino people would now become the uneducated drones of the rich educated aristocracy.]
